- Self-reflection – Take some time after placement to ensure you have fully conceptualised the experience as a whole. What worked, what needs changing for next time. What was your favourite moment? What did you least enjoy? How have you added value to your knowledge and skill base? Being able to reflect provides a sense of closure so you can move on with the rest of your professional learning.
- Rewards - It’s important to build in a reward so that your placement experience finishes on a positive note. You deserve it!
- Maintaining work-life balance – it is tempting to catch up on paid work, socialising and university work immediately after your placement is complete. Remember, you might be a little run-down so gradually return to your usual lifestyle.
